Reverse transfer program nonexistent

There has been talk among students on campus that UW-Waukesha has a "reverse transfer" policy that allows students to take credits at another institution and transfer them back to UW-Waukesha to complete the Associates Degree of Art and Science. Transferring credits back to complete degree requirements is allowed in some situations and not in other student's since each situation is unique. The administration and staff here at UW-Waukesha want to clear up any confusion or misunderstanding. There is no official "reverse transfer" policy, so if you need any information about transferring courses to complete the Associate Degree, the best possible way to do so is to see an advisor about your options.
If you are a student finding yourself in this predicament, contact Barb Kauth, Assistant Campus Dean for Student Services, stop into Student Services to make an appointment, by email at barb.kauth@uwc.edu, or her direct phone line at 262-521-5464.
On page 46 of the University Wisconsin Colleges catalog the following is stated about the degree:
1. A minimum of 60 credits is required.
2. At least 24 of the 60 credits must be competed within the UW Colleges, or at least 12 of the last 24 credits must be earned with the UWC.
3. Students must be enrolled at a UW College campus during the semester in which the degree requirements are completed or have earned 60 degree credits prior to transferring from the UWC to a baccalaureate degree-granting institution.
4. A student must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 earned at the UW Colleges and 2.0 overall GPA in credits applied to the Associate of Arts and Science Degree.
5. The UW Colleges General Education Requirements must be fulfilled.
So why should you earn the Associates Degree of Arts and Science (AAS)? The AAS is a wonderful thing for anyone to have under their belt and it satisfies all general education required courses at any of the UW 4 year colleges. You may not complete the AAS if the above criteria are not met. You must have a minimum of 60 credits and you must have a GPA of 2.0 or above.
For those of you who will be completing the Associates Degree by Spring 2009, the deadline is right around the corner. Fri., March 20 is the priority deadline. If you haven't already, stop by Student Services, get the form, fill it out, and turn it back in to Student Services when you're done. If you are not ready to complete the degree its good to be aware of the deadlines. These deadlines can be found in the Course Schedule for that semester.
