Child safety is top priority

The childcare facility here at UW-Waukesha is not only fun for the kids and convenient for the parents, but safety policies
are taken very serious as well. State comes annually to check up on state codes and staff; they regulate every necessary pre-precuation, including food and child safety, fire drills, etc.
Throughout the year the day care center is visited by the police department and also staff from the hospital. The staff get first-hand experience in emergency procedures. The police talk about personal safety, stranger danger, and bicycle safety.
The fire department comes in once a year, usually in October sometime, to conduct a safety checkup. Safety and the child's
well-being are the day care center's main concerns. Kids at such a young age are like walking time bombs, you never
know what they might get into next. They are more susceptible to all sorts of danger because of the developmental stage
that they are in. They have tons of activities for the kids, like sledding in the winter, activities in the gymnasium, and there is also playground equipment provided for them. They are always walking around the university with all of the activities
they do and because of this, safety is shown and talked about daily with them. The child day care center not only utilizes the services given to them, but also makes the safety of the kids their biggest concern.
