Scarves are no longer a winter accessory they are now an easy, colorful way to brighten up any outfit. However, there are a few rules that should be kept in mind when wearing these great accessories. First, a patterned scarf should never be worn with the same patterned shirt. When pairing a pattern with a pattern it makes the outfit look busy and a little crazy, but don't avoid the patterns just pair them with a solid shirt, a shirt with a design, or logo.
Second, make sure that when purchasing a scarf don't be afraid to ask employees at the stores how to tie it, also don't be afraid to stop people and ask how they tied theirs. By learning several ways to tie scarves it can open up different opportunities on which scarves you purchase. Believe it or not there are different scarves that create different looks. There are long skinny ones and square ones that give more of a bandanna effect.
Lastly when buying scarves you must try to get one that will go with more than one outfit, solid colors are the best for multiple outfits, just remember what is in your closet and plan accordingly. Most stores are carrying scarves now, Wal-Mart has a selection starting as low as $5, and Abercrombie and Fitch has a selection on the higher end starting at $58. No matter where you find your scarf remember to match it well.
