As the year starts it is easy to have our lives overrun by school and jobs. Conflicts of time and commitment make it hard to stay focused and keeping priorities straight. One of the easiest ways to reduce the stress that is building up is to work with another person throughout the year. Once you enrolled at UW - Waukesha you were assigned a student advisor.
Your advisor is going to be someone you can go in to talk to about classes, schedules, teachers, or anything that you might need help with throughout the school year. The advisors on campus are James Boling, Sue Kalinka, Courtney Trice, Becki Jump, and Chris Roland. At any point this semester you have questions concerning your course selections, majors, careers, campus resources, or just getting involved with things on campus, advisors are going to be the people you want to talk to.
You can find all of the advisors in the Student Services office, which opens at 8:00 a.m. every day, and closes at 6:00 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays. These hours will be extended for your convenience the first two weeks of each semester to stay open until 6:00 p.m. through Thursday.
Even if you are not happy with the advisor you have been assigned you are also welcome to switch to a different advisor. Go in anytime during the listed hours and you will be able to sign up for walk-in hours where you will be able to meet with an advisor or schedule an appointment with any advisor you'd like if you have any questions. UW - Waukesha wants to make sure you are successful here and working closely with your advisor along with the
Study Center and tutors will give you the best opportunity for success. Make sure to meet with your advisor at least to speak about which classes you will need for any intended major and then to discuss any plans that you might have for the semester.
