Most people, especially students, know what plagiarism is and why it's not a good thing. Taking the words and ideas from another author and representing it as your own original work can get you into big trouble. It is considered dishonest and you could be thought of as lazy when it comes to writing. Plagiarism can be considered any of the following:

•Using someone else's work as your own
•Writing something very similar to another person's work
•Not properly citing something you're borrowing
•Reusing your old paper for a current class

Plagiarism can easily be avoided. Take some time to think of something original or if you are getting information from somewhere else, read it and then get rid of it. This way you don't remember the exact words of what you read but still understand it. Never copy and paste unless you quote and cite the information properly.

Plagiarism is stealing and there's no way around it. How would you feel if it took you hours or even days to make your own work and someone else stole it and used it for themselves? Next time you have a paper to write, be sure you know what you are doing or you could be facing suspension
