Looking for a place to relax and have a good time with family and friends? If so, then the Field Film Fest is the place to be. The Field Film Fest is a community wide collaboration between UW-Waukesha, Firestarter Films, and Rex Sikes' Movie Beat. The idea behind this collaboration is to unite the Brookfield/Waukesha area with the city of Milwaukee by inviting many of the artists and filmmakers from the city out into the "fields" of Waukesha County.

The first Field Film Fest will be held on Saturday, February, 6th at 5 p.m. until midnight. It will be held at the Lunt-Fontanne theatre, which is located in the Southview building at UW-Waukesha. Admission for everyone is five dollars; the five dollar admission not only guarantees you to have a good time, but also free food, which will be provided by local restaurants such as Sloppy Joes's Soda Fountain and Allo! Chocolat. Alcohol will also be available to purchase for those who are over 21. The fest will begin with the screenings of short films for about 45 minutes. After that first screening, then, everyone will take a break in the lounge area of the theatre to socialize with the filmmakers and network with one another; the film screenings and in-between breaks will be repeated throughout the night, therefore you can come at anytime after 5p.m and leave during any of the break periods.

To prepare for this event the Film Club needs people to start submitting short films; it is free to do so, but the films need to be shorter than 20 minutes long. Also, the Film Club is looking for any students who play in a band that would be interested in performing during the break periods to please post a message expressing your band's interest on the Film Club's Facebook page which can be found by searching "UW-Waukesha Film Club."

The Field Film Fest is slated to re-occur at the beginning of every fall and spring semester. Profits from the Field Film Fest will go toward the purchasing of film and video production equipment. Any students interested in marketing or promotions are eagerly encouraged to help out in the running of this current event in February or future Field Film Fest events.
